In 1883, Johan Kjeldahl presented his analytical method for determining nitrogen in organic substances to the public for the first time. Just one year later, C. Gerhardt began building and selling the first digestion and distillation equipment using the Kjeldahl method.
A lot has happened since then. We have worked continuously on automating and standardising digestion and analysis processes. We have managed to make the analysis results comparable and largely independent of external factors. And we have always kept an eye on the safety of users.
Thanks to decades of close cooperation with our customers in a very wide range of application areas, C. Gerhardt has a broad base of practical expertise. Data is gathered in our comprehensive application database, where it is formatted and made available to our customers in the form of helpful manuals on how to make the most of our analysis systems.
